When 1st arriving at Koko there was a huge queue so we quickly joined. Whilst waiting to go in I got talking to a girl who had traveled come on her own from Wales. This wasn't however what amazed me she was saying how last month she traveled all the way to New Zealand to see the boys!!! I think this just proves how dedicated the boys fans are!
Koko itself is an old theater and therefore has balconys which even before people finished coming in had hoards of teenage girls hanging over them to try and catch a glimpse of one of the band members.
The 1st to perform were the support act Young Kato. I personally hadn't heard of the band before but the way they perform and the lead singer's (Tommy) voice is truly captivating. I think their performance was just as impressive as that of 5 Seconds Of Summer especially as not many people knew their songs. However they still managed to get the crowd hyped up and its fair to say they know how to impress a group of teenage girls. They were really impressive and I still have their song Drink Dance Play stuck in my head !
When 5 Seconds Of Summer came on stage everyone and I mean everyone went crazy, even more so when they began singing on of their more well known songs Out Of My Limit. They introduced fans to some new material which although I may be a little bias was amazing and definitely went down well with the rest of the crowd. Since they have finished touring with One Direction its clear to see these boys have found their own style and really pushed it to the max!
The night left everyone on a high and I think its safe to say their upcoming album and UK tour are going to be a massive hit among teenage girls. Maybe now they just need to work on their male fan base ....
Higlight of the night - Luke Hemmings solo of Wherever You Are
Perhaps it wasn't exactly a solo due to the crowd but it was still a "magical" moment also it was the point the whole crowd came together.
